Vendor Item Costing

DAC provides a mechanism to import vendor item costs.   See the DAC documentation for more information on how to utilize this feature.  The data for the import must conform to the following specification:

Note: Only a small portion of this data is used for actually updating the vendor's item cost in DAC. Most of the information is used to provide a visually-useful reference.  For example, if a distributor is viewing this data in a spreadsheet, it may be helpful to see the Vendor Name, or a Retail Pack size.

 

Format: Fixed Length

UPC1 15 7 21 N N One of up to three UPC codes used to cross-reference and locate the item in DAC.
UPC2 15 22 36 N N One of up to three UPC codes used to cross-reference and locate the item in DAC.
UPC3 15 37 51 N N One of up to three UPC codes used to cross-reference and locate the item in DAC.
Warehouse Code 6 52 57 A N If not supplied, the default warehouse in DAC will be assumed.

Vendor Number 6 93 98 A N The alpha-numeric code which identifies the vendor in the DAC purchasing system.
Vendor DUNS 13 99 111 N N The DUNS number of the vendor.  If Vendor Number is not supplied, Vendor DUNS must be supplied.
Start Date 8 112 119 N N Date the price becomes effective.  If not supplied, the current date is assumed.  YYYYMMDD
End Date 8 120 127 N N Date the price expires. YYYYMMDD  If not supplied, it is assumed that the cost never expires.

Price 9 137 145 R Y The price the vendor charges this distributor.  May or may not be the same as List Price.

Retail Unit Pack 5 181 185 N N The number of retail units in a full-case.  For example, a case of Scotch Utility Tape contains 120 rolls of tape.  A roll is the retail unit.  The case contains 12 cartons with each carton containing 10 rolls of tape.  The Retail Unit Pack is therefore 120.
Retail Unit Size 5 186 190 A N The size of the retail unit.  For example a 16 OZ bottle of shampoo would have a Retail Unit Size of  "16 OZ".
Retail Unit Description 3 191 193 A N A description of the retail unit.  For example, a 16 OZ bottle of shampoo may have a Retail Unit Description of "BOT" or simply "EA".
Wholesale Unit Pack 5 194 198 N N The number of wholesale units in a full-case.  For example, a case of Scotch Utility Tape contains 12 cartons of tape.  A carton  is the wholesale unit.   The Wholesale Unit Pack is therefore 12.
Wholesale Unit Size 5 199 203 R N The number of retail units in the wholesale unit.  For example, a case of Scotch Utility Tape contains 12 cartons with each carton containing 10 rolls of tape.  The carton is the wholesale unit, and the roll is the retail unit.  The Wholesale Unit Size is therefore 10.
Wholesale Unit Description. 3 204 206   N A description of the wholesale unit.  For example, CTN, CAS, BOX.
